Tariku Bekele

Tariku Bekele, born on February twenty-eighth, nineteen eighty-seven, is a distinguished Ethiopian long-distance runner renowned for his prowess in the 5,000 metres and his transition to the 10,000 metres. As the younger brother of the legendary Kenenisa Bekele, Tariku has carved out his own legacy in the world of athletics, becoming the fourth fastest Ethiopian in history over both the 5,000 m and 3,000 m distances.

His remarkable indoor 3,000 m personal best of seven minutes and thirty-one point zero nine seconds places him among the top ten fastest athletes of all time in this event. Tariku's competitive spirit shone brightly at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he earned a bronze medal in the 10,000 m, showcasing his talent on the world stage.

Tariku's journey in athletics began with a significant triumph at the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships, where he clinched the gold medal in the 3,000 m.
