Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tate Reeves

Tate Reeves, born on June fifth, nineteen seventy-four, in Florence, Mississippi, is a prominent American politician currently serving as the sixty-fifth governor of Mississippi since two thousand twenty. A member of the Republican Party, Reeves has had a distinguished political career, previously holding the position of thirty-second lieutenant governor from two thousand twelve to two thousand twenty and serving as the fifty-third treasurer of Mississippi from two thousand four to two thousand twelve.

Reeves graduated from Florence High School in nineteen ninety-two and went on to earn a degree in economics from Millsaps College in nineteen ninety-six. After becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst, he began his career at Park South Corporation before transitioning to Trustmark as a financial portfolio manager in two thousand.

His political journey began when he entered the race for state treasurer after the Democratic incumbent announced he would not seek reelection. In the Republican primary runoff, he triumphed over former Central District Transportation Commissioner Wayne Burkes and subsequently defeated Democratic nominee Gary Anderson in the general election. Reeves secured reelection in two thousand seven and ascended to the role of lieutenant governor in two thousand twelve.

In two thousand nineteen, Reeves was selected as his party's nominee for the gubernatorial election, where he faced off against former state Supreme Court Justice Bill Waller Jr. and State Representative Robert Foster. He narrowly won the general election against Attorney General Jim Hood. As governor, Reeves has made significant changes, including altering the state flag, lifting COVID-19 restrictions ahead of many other governors, opposing vaccine mandates, and legalizing medical cannabis. He was narrowly reelected in two thousand twenty-three, defeating Brandon Presley.
