Tatsumi Kimishima

Tatsumi Kimishima, born on April twenty-first, nineteen fifty, is a prominent Japanese businessman known for his significant contributions to the gaming industry. He served as the fifth president of Nintendo from September two thousand fifteen until June two thousand eighteen, following the untimely passing of Satoru Iwata.

Before ascending to the presidency, Kimishima held the position of president of Nintendo of America starting in January two thousand two. He succeeded Minoru Arakawa and led the company until Reggie Fils-Aimé took over in May two thousand six. During this time, he also became the CEO and chairman of the board of Nintendo of America, a role he maintained until June two thousand thirteen.

In June two thousand thirteen, Kimishima was promoted to managing director, showcasing his leadership capabilities within the company. His tenure as president of Nintendo was marked by a commitment to innovation and a deep understanding of the gaming market, which helped steer the company through a transformative period.
