He founded the Cable News Network (CNN) in nineteen eighty, marking the inception of the first twenty-four hour cable news channel. His innovative spirit also led to the creation of WTBS, which pioneered the superstation concept, along with the establishment of TBS and TNT, further solidifying his influence in the media industry.

Beyond his media ventures, Turner is a dedicated philanthropist, having donated one billion dollars to establish the United Nations Foundation, aimed at enhancing U.S. support for the United Nations. He plays a vital role as Chairman of the board of directors for the foundation.
