Teemu Selänne

Teemu Selänne, born on July third, nineteen seventy, is a celebrated Finnish former professional ice hockey player, television presenter, and actor. Known as 'the Finnish Flash', Selänne began his illustrious career in the nineteen eighty-nine to ninety season with Jokerit in the SM-liiga. He later made a significant impact in the National Hockey League, playing for twenty-one seasons with teams including the Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, and Colorado Avalanche.

Throughout his NHL career, Selänne established himself as the highest-scoring Finnish player in history, retiring in two thousand fourteen with six hundred eighty-four goals and one thousand four hundred fifty-seven points, ranking eleventh and fifteenth all-time, respectively. His remarkable achievements include leading the league in goals and points as a rookie, a record that still stands today. He was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy for his outstanding first year and has been a three-time fifty-goal scorer and four-time hundred-point scorer.

Selänne's contributions to the sport were recognized when his jersey number eight was retired by the Anaheim Ducks in two thousand fifteen.
