Teia

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Teia

Teia, also known by various names such as Teja, Theia, Thila, Thela, and Teias, was a significant figure in the history of the Ostrogothic Kingdom of Italy. Born in the year five hundred fifty, he ascended to the throne as the last king of the Ostrogoths, a position that would see him embroiled in the tumultuous conflicts of his time.

His military leadership was notably marked by the Battle of Busta Gallorum, where he commanded his troops with a fierce resolve. However, the aftermath of this battle was marred by tragedy, as noncombatant Romans were ruthlessly slaughtered, highlighting the brutal realities of warfare during this period.

Teia's reign came to a tragic end in late five hundred fifty-two or early five hundred fifty-three, during the Battle of Mons Lactarius. This conflict would ultimately seal his fate, marking the decline of Ostrogothic power in Italy.

Archaeological evidence of Teia's rule has been uncovered in the form of coinage found in what was once Transalpine Gaul, providing a glimpse into the economic aspects of his reign and the legacy he left behind.
