Known by his nicknames 'the General', 'the Navigator', and 'Techno M', Modise has left an indelible mark on South African football, both as a player and as a former captain of the national team, Bafana Bafana.
Modise's football journey began in the lower leagues with Ria Stars and City Pillars, where he showcased his talent and earned the Mvela Golden League Player of the Season award. His career continued at Cape Town City, where he played until his retirement in 2019, marking the end of an illustrious playing career.
On the international stage, Modise represented South Africa in sixty-six matches from 2007 to 2012, participating in prestigious tournaments such as the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Today, he contributes to the sport as a staff member at Cape Town City Football Club, continuing his legacy in South African football.
