Telma Monteiro

Telma Monteiro, born on December 27, 1985, in Lisbon, is a distinguished retired judoka who has made a significant mark in the world of judo. Throughout her career, she has garnered multiple medals in prestigious international competitions, including the European and World Championships, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Monteiro's remarkable achievements include being a two-time champion of the Paris Grand Slam, triumphing in the years 2012 and 2015. Her prowess was further highlighted at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she earned a bronze medal in the women's -57 kg event, solidifying her status as one of the elite judokas in her weight class.

In addition to her Olympic success, she also competed in the women's 57 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, where she finished in ninth place.
