Tera van Beilen, born on March 30, 1993, is a distinguished Canadian competition swimmer and Olympian, renowned for her remarkable achievements in breaststroke events. Her journey to prominence began at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore, where she showcased her talent by winning a gold medal in the women's 100-metre breaststroke and a silver in the 200-metre breaststroke.
In 2012, during the Canadian Olympic trials held in Montreal, Van Beilen secured her spot for the London Olympics by finishing first in the women's 200-metre breaststroke with an impressive time of 2:24.03. This remarkable performance not only earned her a place on the Olympic team but also ranked her second in the world for that year, trailing only behind the reigning American Olympic champion, Rebecca Soni.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Van Beilen garnered significant attention as she competed in the women's 100-metre and 200-metre breaststroke events, as well as the women's 4x100-metre medley relay. Although she advanced to the semi-finals in the 100-metre breaststroke, she faced elimination in a swim-off against Jamaica's Alia Atkinson.

Currently, she is pursuing a degree in kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, where she is also a dedicated member of the UBC Thunderbirds swimming team.
