Hailing from Smiths Falls, Ontario, and raised in Winchester, Ontario, Carkner made a significant mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) over the course of thirteen seasons. He played for several teams, including the New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques, Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, and Florida Panthers, showcasing his skills as a tough and fearless defensive player.
