Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Terry Gou

Terry Gou, born on October eighth, nineteen fifty, is a prominent Taiwanese entrepreneur and politician, best known as the founder and former chairman of Foxconn, the world's largest contract manufacturer of electronics. Established in nineteen seventy-four, Foxconn has grown into a colossal international business empire, becoming Taiwan's largest private employer and exporter, with a staggering workforce of one point two million.

In two thousand sixteen, speculation about Gou's political aspirations began to surface as he prepared for the two thousand twenty presidential election. In two thousand nineteen, he resigned from his role at Foxconn and joined the Kuomintang (KMT) to run for president, claiming that a dream involving the sea goddess Mazu compelled him to enter the race. Ultimately, he finished second in the KMT primary.

After departing from the KMT following the primary, Gou rejoined the party in two thousand twenty-three and announced his intention to run for president again in the upcoming election. However, after initially campaigning as an independent candidate, he concluded his campaign in late November two thousand twenty-three.

Throughout his career, Gou has been recognized for his friendly relations with mainland business interests, even being referred to as an 'old friend' by Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party. In December two thousand twenty-two, he played a significant role in lobbying the Xi administration to ease the stringent zero-COVID rules. On the foreign policy front, Gou has voiced criticism of the Taiwan independence movement and advocated for a reduction in Sino-American tensions.
