Tetiana Chornovol

Tetiana Chornovol, born on June fourth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a prominent Ukrainian journalist, politician, writer, and civic activist. She gained recognition as one of the leaders of the Euromaidan protest campaign, where her investigative reports on corruption in Ukraine highlighted the pressing issues facing her country. Chornovol's commitment to her cause is evident through her direct actions and her unwavering dedication to transparency and accountability.

In two thousand fourteen, she was elected to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, where she served as a member of the parliamentary faction of the People's Front until two thousand nineteen. During her tenure, she was also a vital member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, contributing to the legislative framework that supports Ukraine's sovereignty.

Chornovol's resilience was tested on December twenty-fifth, two thousand thirteen, when she was brutally attacked by a group of men in Kyiv, resulting in a broken nose and a concussion. This incident drew widespread condemnation and underscored the dangers faced by journalists in Ukraine.

Following the assassination of European Solidarity MP Andriy Parubiy, Chornovol returned to the Ukrainian parliament in September two thousand twenty-five, stepping in to fill a vacancy. Her commitment to her country continued as she took part in the War in Donbas and rejoined the Ukrainian army after the Russian invasion in two thousand twenty-two, demonstrating her unwavering patriotism and dedication to defending Ukraine.
