Tetsuya Nomura

Tetsuya Nomura, born on October eighth, nineteen seventy, is a prominent Japanese video game artist, designer, producer, and director, renowned for his work with Square Enix. His journey began in nineteen ninety-two when he was hired as a monster designer for Final Fantasy V. His talent quickly led him to collaborate with Yoshitaka Amano as a secondary character designer for Final Fantasy VI, released in nineteen ninety-four.

Nomura's breakthrough came with Final Fantasy VII in nineteen ninety-seven, where he not only contributed to the original story alongside Hironobu Sakaguchi but also made his mark as the lead character designer. This role established him as a key figure in the franchise, a position he would maintain for numerous future installments, as well as for other notable Square Enix titles like The Bouncer and The World Ends with You. Among his creations are iconic characters such as Cactuar, Gilgamesh, and Tonberry.

In addition to his work on the Final Fantasy series, Nomura has been instrumental in the development of the Kingdom Hearts series since its inception in two thousand two, serving as its director. His creative influence extends to The World Ends with You series, where he has also taken on the role of creative producer. Furthermore, he directed the film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in two thousand five and the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake in two thousand twenty, while also serving as the creative director for the upcoming sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, set to release in two thousand twenty-four.
