Thamphthis, an enigmatic figure of ancient Egypt, is recognized as a ruler of the 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom. His reign, which may have spanned between two and nine years, is shrouded in mystery, as he remains completely unattested in contemporary sources.

Scholars believe that Thamphthis may have ruled under the names Djedefptah or Djedefkaf. The former translates to "he endures like Ptah," while the latter means "his Ka is enduring." These interpretations, proposed by Egyptologists such as William C. Hayes, highlight the significance of his name in relation to the divine.
