The Rev

James Owen Sullivan, known to fans as The Rev, was born on February 9, 1981. He emerged as a prominent figure in the heavy metal scene, co-founding the band Avenged Sevenfold in 1999. As a multifaceted musician, he contributed not only as the drummer but also as a pianist and backing vocalist, showcasing his diverse talents within the group.

Before his rise to fame with Avenged Sevenfold, The Rev was involved in various musical projects. He served as the lead vocalist and pianist for the avant-garde metal band Pinkly Smooth, where he honed his unique style. Additionally, he played drums for the ska punk band Suburban Legends from 1998 to 1999, further expanding his musical repertoire.

Tragically, The Rev's life was cut short when he passed away on December 28, 2009. His contributions to music, particularly in the heavy metal genre, left a lasting impact on fans and fellow musicians alike.
