Thelma Schoonmaker

Thelma Schoonmaker, born on January third, nineteen forty, is a distinguished American film editor renowned for her enduring partnership with acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. Over the span of five decades, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the cinematic landscape, earning a reputation as one of the industry's leading editors.

Her impressive accolades include three Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and four ACE Eddie Awards, underscoring her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. In recognition of her contributions to film, Schoonmaker was awarded the British Film Institute Fellowship in nineteen ninety-seven, the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in two thousand fourteen, and the BAFTA Fellowship in two thousand nineteen.

Schoonmaker's collaboration with Scorsese began with his debut feature film, Who's That Knocking at My Door, released in nineteen sixty-seven.
