Théodore-Adrien Sarr

Théodore-Adrien Sarr, born on November twenty-eighth, nineteen thirty-six, is a prominent figure in the Catholic Church of Senegal. His journey began in the diocese of Kaolack, where he served as Bishop from nineteen seventy-four until two thousand. During this time, he made significant contributions to the spiritual and social fabric of the community.

In two thousand, Sarr was appointed Archbishop of Dakar, a role he held until two thousand fourteen. His leadership in this capacity was marked by a commitment to fostering dialogue and unity within the Church and the broader society.

In recognition of his dedicated service, Sarr was elevated to the cardinalate in two thousand seven by Pope Benedict XVI. This honor underscored his influence and the respect he garnered within the Catholic community, both in Senegal and internationally.
