Thom Mayne

Thom Mayne, born on January nineteenth, nineteen forty-four, is a prominent American architect renowned for his innovative designs and academic contributions. Based in Los Angeles, he has significantly influenced the architectural landscape through both his practice and teaching.

In nineteen seventy-two, Mayne co-founded the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), where he continues to serve as a trustee and coordinates the Design of Cities postgraduate program. His commitment to education is evident in his teaching roles at SCI-Arc, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
