Thomas Gallon, born on November twenty-eighth, eighteen eighty-six, was a remarkable individual whose journey began in Texas. As a young man, he ventured to Canada, where he discovered his passion for athletics, particularly in track and field.
In nineteen twelve, Gallon represented Canada at the Summer Olympics, competing in the 400 metres. Although he faced elimination in the first round of this event, he also participated as a member of the Canadian relay team, which similarly did not advance past the first round of the 4x400 metre relay.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Gallon served his country with distinction during World War I, achieving the rank of captain in the First Division, 16th Battalion. Following the war, he transitioned into a successful banking career with the Royal Bank of Canada, where he worked in Havana.
In his later years, Gallon took on the role of president of the Sugar Sales Corporation, further showcasing his leadership and business acumen.
