Thutmose III

Thutmose III, often referred to as Thutmose the Great, was a prominent figure in ancient Egyptian history, serving as the fifth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty. His reign, which officially began on 28 April 1479 BC and lasted until his death on 11 March 1425 BC, is marked by remarkable military achievements and strategic prowess. For the first twenty-two years, he ruled alongside his stepmother and aunt, Hatshepsut, who held the title of pharaoh. Following her death in 1458, Thutmose III ascended as the sole ruler of Egypt.

Renowned as one of the greatest military commanders of all time, Thutmose III conducted between seventeen and twenty successful military campaigns, expanding Egypt's empire to its zenith. His victories are chronicled in the Annals of Thutmose III, showcasing his exceptional leadership and tactical skills. He is often likened to Napoleon for his military genius, earning him the title of Egypt's preeminent warrior pharaoh.

In addition to his military conquests, Thutmose III is credited with establishing the ancient Egyptian navy, marking a significant advancement in naval warfare during that era. His innovative strategies and relentless pursuit of expansion solidified Egypt's dominance in the region.
