Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tiësto

Tijs Michiel Verwest, known to the world as Tiësto, was born on January 17, 1969, in the Netherlands. Renowned as a pioneering DJ and record producer, he has earned the title of 'The Greatest DJ of All Time' by Mix magazine in a poll conducted in 2010/2011. His influence in the electronic dance music scene has led many to refer to him as the 'Godfather of EDM.'

In 1997, Tiësto co-founded Black Hole Recordings with Arny Bink, where he launched the iconic Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series. His collaboration with producer Dennis Waakop Reijers began in 1998, marking the start of a fruitful partnership. Between 1998 and 2000, he worked alongside Ferry Corsten under the alias Gouryella, further solidifying his presence in the music industry.

Tiësto's remix of Delerium's 'Silence' featuring Sarah McLachlan in 2000 catapulted him into mainstream recognition. His debut solo album, In My Memory, released in 2001, produced several major hits and established him as a leading figure in the genre. From 2002 to 2004, he was voted World No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine in its annual Top 100 DJs poll, a testament to his popularity and skill.

In a historic moment for the music world, Tiësto performed live at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, becoming the first DJ to take the stage at an Olympics. He continued to innovate with his radio show, Tiësto's Club Life, launched in April 2007, and his third studio album, Elements of Life, which topped charts in Belgium and the U.S. and earned a Grammy nomination in 2008.

His fourth studio album, Kaleidoscope, was released in October 2009, followed by A Town Called Paradise in June 2014. Tiësto's remarkable career was further highlighted when he won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for his remix of John Legend's 'All of Me' at the fifty-seventh Annual Grammy Awards.
