Tim Cuddihy, born on May 21, 1987, in Toowoomba, Australia, is a distinguished archer who made his mark at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Competing in men's individual matchplay archery, Cuddihy showcased his exceptional skills by winning his first three elimination matches, which propelled him into the quarterfinals.
In a thrilling quarterfinal showdown, Cuddihy faced off against Park Kyung-mo from Korea. Demonstrating remarkable precision, he triumphed with a narrow victory of 112–111, earning a spot in the semifinals. There, he encountered Hiroshi Yamamoto of Japan, where the match ended in a dramatic tie-breaker after both archers scored 115 points. Ultimately, Cuddihy lost in a tense 10–9 tie-breaker, but his performance was commendable.
Following the semifinals, Cuddihy competed for the bronze medal against Laurence Godfrey of Great Britain. In a closely contested match, he emerged victorious with a score of 113–112, securing a well-deserved bronze medal. Additionally, he contributed to the Australian men's archery team, which finished in sixth place at the same Olympic Games.
After the 2004 Olympics, Cuddihy faced challenges in his career, including a temporary retirement from archery after he was unable to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. However, his passion for the sport led him back to the Australian Institute of Sport's archery program in January 2010, although this program concluded at the end of 2011.
