Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tim Howard

Tim Howard, born on March sixth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a celebrated American former professional soccer player and sports commentator, renowned for his exceptional skills as a goalkeeper. Often referred to as the 'Secretary of Defense', Howard is widely regarded as one of the greatest American players in the history of the sport.

His professional journey began with the North Jersey Imperials, leading to a significant move to the MetroStars. In two thousand three, Howard signed with the prestigious English club Manchester United, stepping in as the first-choice keeper after Fabian Barthez. During his tenure, he achieved notable success, contributing to the team's victories in the two thousand three FA Community Shield, the two thousand three to four FA Cup, and the two thousand five to six League Cup. His outstanding performance earned him a spot on the PFA Team of the Year for the two thousand three to four season.

After the arrival of Edwin van der Sar in two thousand five, Howard's opportunities at United diminished, leading to a loan to Everton in two thousand six, which became a permanent move in February two thousand seven. On January fourth, two thousand twelve, he made headlines by scoring against Bolton Wanderers, becoming only the fourth goalkeeper in Premier League history to do so. In two thousand sixteen, Howard returned to Major League Soccer, signing with the Colorado Rapids, where he played for three years before retiring in October two thousand nineteen.

In January two thousand twenty, Howard took on the role of sporting director for Memphis 901, briefly coming out of retirement to play for the USL Championship side in March of the same year. His international career is equally impressive, as he holds the record for the most capped goalkeeper for the United States men's national team, with one hundred twenty-one appearances from two thousand two until his retirement in two thousand seventeen. Although he was an unused substitute in the two thousand six FIFA World Cup, he became the first-choice keeper for subsequent tournaments, including the two thousand nine FIFA Confederations Cup, where he was awarded the Golden Glove.

Howard started all matches for the U.S. in the two thousand ten and two thousand fourteen FIFA World Cups, helping the team reach the Round of 16 on both occasions. Notably, during the latter tournament, he set a World Cup record with sixteen saves in a single match against Belgium, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport's greats.
