Tim Kaine

Tim Kaine, born on February twenty-six, nineteen fifty-eight, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is a prominent American lawyer and politician. He has served as the junior United States senator from Virginia since two thousand thirteen, representing the Democratic Party. Kaine's political journey began in Richmond, Virginia, where he was first elected to the city council in nineteen ninety-four and later became the mayor in nineteen ninety-eight.

His ascent in Virginia politics continued as he was elected lieutenant governor in two thousand one and subsequently became the seventy-first governor of Virginia from two thousand six to two thousand ten. During his tenure, he also chaired the Democratic National Committee from two thousand nine to two thousand eleven, showcasing his leadership within the party.

In two thousand sixteen, Kaine was selected as the Democratic nominee for Vice President alongside presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Although the Clinton-Kaine ticket won a plurality of the national popular vote, they ultimately lost the election to the Republican duo of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
