Tímea Babos, born on May 10, 1993, is a distinguished Hungarian professional tennis player renowned for her exceptional skills in doubles. She has made her mark in the sport by achieving the remarkable feat of becoming the first Hungarian player, male or female, to ascend to the world No. 1 ranking in doubles, a position she first attained in July 2018 and held for thirteen weeks.
Throughout her illustrious career, Babos has secured a total of twenty-eight WTA Tour doubles titles, alongside three singles titles. Her prowess in women's doubles is highlighted by her four Grand Slam victories, which include triumphs at the Australian Open in 2018 and 2020, as well as the French Open in 2019 and 2020, all achieved in partnership with Kristina Mladenovic.
In addition to her Grand Slam successes, Babos has reached the finals of several prestigious tournaments, including the Wimbledon Championships in 2014 and 2016, and the US Open in 2018.
