Timothy Kopra

Timothy Kopra, born on April ninth, nineteen sixty-three, is a distinguished American engineer and a retired NASA astronaut. With a notable career in the United States Army, he holds the rank of colonel and has made significant contributions to space exploration.

His journey into space began with his role as a flight engineer aboard the International Space Station during Expedition 20. Kopra returned to Earth on September eleventh, two thousand nine, aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery during the STS-128 mission. His passion for space led him back to the ISS in December two thousand fifteen, where he served as the commander of Expedition 47 and participated in Expedition 46.

In two thousand twenty, Kopra transitioned to a leadership role in the private sector, being appointed as the vice president of robotics and space operations at MDA Corporation. His extensive experience in both military and aerospace fields continues to influence advancements in space technology.
