Timothy Radcliffe

Timothy Radcliffe, born on August twenty-second, nineteen forty-five, is a distinguished English theologian and a prominent figure within the Catholic Church. As a member of the Dominican Order, he made history by serving as the Master of the Order of Preachers from nineteen ninety-two to two thousand one, becoming the first friar from the English Province to hold this esteemed position.

In addition to his role as Master-General, Radcliffe has dedicated much of his career to academia, notably as the director of the Las Casas Institute at the University of Oxford. His work there has focused on promoting social justice and advocating for human rights, reflecting his deep commitment to these vital issues.

In recognition of his contributions to the Church and society, Pope Francis elevated Radcliffe to the rank of cardinal in two thousand twenty-four, further solidifying his influence and leadership within the Catholic community.
