Timur Vermes

Timur Vermes, born in 1967, is a prominent German journalist and novelist known for his sharp wit and incisive commentary on contemporary society. His literary journey began as a ghostwriter, where he honed his skills in crafting compelling narratives.

Vermes gained widespread recognition with his debut novel, Er ist wieder da, a satirical exploration of Adolf Hitler's return to modern-day Germany. This provocative work has resonated with readers, selling over a million copies in Germany alone.

The English translation, titled Look Who's Back, was skillfully translated by Jamie Bulloch and published by MacLehose Press in April 2014, with a paperback edition following in March 2015. Through this novel, Vermes invites readers to reflect on the absurdities of contemporary politics and society.
