Tiwa Savage

Tiwatope Omolara Savage, widely known as Tiwa Savage, is a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress born on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko. At the age of eleven, she moved to London to pursue her secondary education, where her passion for music began to flourish. Tiwa's career took off as she provided backup vocals for renowned artists such as George Michael and Mary J. Blige, showcasing her exceptional talent early on.

After participating in the UK edition of The X Factor and graduating from Berklee College of Music, Tiwa signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in two thousand nine. Inspired by the burgeoning Nigerian music scene, she returned to Nigeria in two thousand twelve and joined Mavin Records, making her mark with a feature on the label's compilation album, Solar Plexus.

Her debut studio album, Once Upon a Time, was released on July 3, two thousand thirteen, featuring hit singles like 'Kele Kele Love' and 'Love Me (3x)'. The album garnered nominations for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014. Following this success, her second album, R.E.D, was released in December two thousand fifteen, producing popular tracks such as 'My Darlin' and 'Standing Ovation'.

In November two thousand eighteen, Tiwa made history by winning Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, becoming the first woman to achieve this honor. In May two thousand nineteen, she signed a record deal with Universal Music Group, marking her departure from Mavin Records. Her third studio album, Celia, featured singles like 'Attention' and 'Dangerous Love', while her EP, Water & Garri, showcased her unique blend of Afrobeat and soulful R&B. Tiwa continues to captivate audiences, with her fourth studio album, This One Is Personal, set to release in August two thousand twenty-five.
