Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge, born on December thirteenth, nineteen seventy-five, is an influential American musician renowned for his role as the co-founder, co-lead vocalist, and guitarist of the iconic rock band Blink-182. His journey with the band spans three significant periods: from nineteen ninety-two to two thousand five, a reunion from two thousand nine to two thousand fifteen, and a return in two thousand twenty-two. DeLonge's distinctive nasal singing voice has become a hallmark of his musical style.

DeLonge's musical journey began in his childhood when he received his first guitar, leading him to write punk rock songs during his high school years. Alongside bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Scott Raynor, he formed Blink-182, which quickly gained traction in the local music scene. Their debut album, Cheshire Cat, released in nineteen ninety-five, marked the beginning of their rise to fame. The band's second album, Dude Ranch, released in nineteen ninety-seven, featured the hit single 'Dammit' and solidified their presence in the punk rock genre.

In nineteen ninety-eight, drummer Travis Barker joined the band, propelling them to unprecedented success with their third album, Enema of the State, which sold over fifteen million copies worldwide and achieved quadruple-platinum status in the United States. The subsequent album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, released in two thousand one, became their first number one album. DeLonge and Barker also explored post-hardcore music with their side project, Box Car Racer, in two thousand two, although it was short-lived.

After the band's breakup in two thousand five, DeLonge founded Angels & Airwaves, a project that has released five albums and evolved into a multifaceted art initiative. He returned to Blink-182 in two thousand nine, only to depart again in two thousand fifteen, before rejoining in two thousand twenty-two. Beyond music, DeLonge has ventured into entrepreneurship, founding companies like Macbeth Footwear and Modlife, and has been involved in various film projects, including scoring the sci-fi film Love in two thousand eleven and authoring the children's book The Lonely Astronaut on Christmas Eve in two thousand thirteen.
