Tom Homan

Tom Homan, born on November 28, 1961, is a prominent American law enforcement officer known for his significant roles in immigration enforcement and policy. He served as the acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from January 2017 to June 2018, during which he became a key figure in the Trump administration's immigration strategy.

Homan's career in law enforcement spans multiple administrations, including notable service during both the Obama and Trump presidencies. He gained recognition for his advocacy of deportation policies and his opposition to sanctuary city initiatives. In 2015, he was honored with a Presidential Rank Award by President Barack Obama for his effectiveness in deporting illegal immigrants.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Homan has transitioned into a political commentator, contributing to Fox News and joining the Heritage Foundation in 2022. His controversial stance on family separation as a deterrent to illegal immigration has made him a vocal proponent of such policies, particularly during his tenure under the Trump administration.

In September 2024, Homan faced scrutiny when he was reportedly recorded accepting a bag containing fifty thousand dollars in cash from undercover FBI agents. This incident was part of an investigation into allegations of bribery related to border security contracts. However, by September 2025, the Department of Justice closed the investigation, citing insufficient evidence.
