Tom Seaver

George Thomas Seaver, born on November 17, 1944, was an iconic American professional baseball pitcher whose legacy in Major League Baseball (MLB) remains unparalleled. Known affectionately as 'Tom Terrific' and 'the Franchise', Seaver's career spanned two decades, during which he played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, and Boston Red Sox from 1967 to 1986.

Seaver's impact on the game was profound, particularly during his time with the Mets, where he became a cornerstone of the franchise. He was instrumental in leading the team to its first World Series victory in 1969 against the Baltimore Orioles. His remarkable talent earned him the National League's Rookie of the Year Award in 1967, followed by three NL Cy Young Awards, solidifying his status as one of the league's premier pitchers.

Throughout his illustrious career, Seaver amassed an impressive record of three hundred eleven wins, three thousand six hundred forty strikeouts, and sixty-one shutouts, all while maintaining a stellar earned run average of two point eighty-six. Notably, he threw a no-hitter in 1978 and was selected as an All-Star twelve times, making him the all-time leader in wins for the Mets.
