Tom Thibodeau

Thomas Joseph Thibodeau Jr., affectionately known as "Thibs," is a prominent American basketball coach born on January 17, 1958. With a career spanning several decades, he has made significant contributions to the sport, most recently serving as the head coach for the New York Knicks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Thibodeau's coaching prowess was further recognized when he served as an assistant coach for the United States men's national team from 2013 to 2016, playing a pivotal role in their gold medal victory at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Thibodeau's reputation as a defensive strategist is well-earned, having helped the Houston Rockets achieve top rankings in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense from two thousand four to two thousand seven. His teams have consistently finished in the league's top ten for team defense, a testament to his coaching acumen. His journey in the NBA began as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks during the 1999 NBA Finals, after which he joined the Boston Celtics, where he celebrated victory in the two thousand eight NBA Finals and guided the team back to the Finals in two thousand ten.

In two thousand twenty-one, he once again earned the Coach of the Year award, leading the Knicks to their first playoff berth in eight seasons.
