Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tomislav Butina

Tomislav Butina, born on March 30, 1974, is a distinguished Croatian former professional footballer who made his mark as a goalkeeper. He began his career with Dinamo Zagreb, debuting for the first team on May 23, 1993, during a time when the club was known as Croatia Zagreb. Initially, he faced challenges in securing a starting position due to the presence of the long-serving first-choice goalkeeper, Dražen Ladić. However, after several loan spells with lower-tier Croatian clubs, Butina established himself as a key player and took over as Dinamo's first-choice goalkeeper in the 2000–01 season following Ladić's retirement.

In July 2003, Butina made a significant move to Belgium, joining Club Brugge, where he enjoyed a successful three-season stint. His journey continued in 2006 when he signed with the Greek giants Olympiacos. Despite facing difficulties during his two seasons there, he returned to Dinamo Zagreb for the 2008–09 season, where he made forty-nine league appearances before his early release in August 2010.

On the international stage, Butina represented Croatia at various youth levels, earning twelve caps for the under-20 and under-21 teams in 1994 and 1995. He made his full international debut on September 5, 2001, in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino. Butina was a vital part of the Croatian national team during the Euro 2004 finals and was included in the squads for the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups, although he did not play in any matches during those tournaments. He announced his retirement from international football in August 2006.
