Tomohisa Yamashita

Tomohisa Yamashita, born on April 9, 1985, is a multifaceted Japanese artist known for his talents as a singer, actor, and television host. He began his journey in the entertainment industry at a young age, joining the prestigious talent agency Johnny & Associates as a trainee in 1996. His acting career took off with a small debut in NHK's Shonentachi in 1998, paving the way for a successful career in both music and acting.

In 2004, Yamashita made his musical debut as a member of the popular idol group NEWS, which quickly gained a massive following. He ventured into a solo career in 2006, showcasing his versatility as an artist. His breakout role came in 2005 when he portrayed Kusano Akira in the hit drama Nobuta Wo Produce, which solidified his status as a leading actor in the Japanese entertainment scene.

In addition to his music career, Yamashita has captivated audiences with his performances in numerous popular dramas, including Operation Love, Buzzer Beat, Code Blue, and 5→9 From Five to Nine. His latest film, Code Blue: The Movie, released in 2018, became the highest-grossing domestic film in Japan that year and ranked fifth among all-time highest-grossing live-action movies in the country. With a brokerage contract signed with Westbrook Entertainment in 2019, Yamashita aims to reach global audiences, further expanding his influence in the entertainment industry.
