Toney Douglas

Toney Douglas, born on March sixteenth, nineteen eighty-six, is an accomplished American professional basketball player currently showcasing his talents with Hapoel Galil Elyon in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. His journey in basketball began at Auburn University, where he played for the Tigers for one year before transferring to Florida State University. At Florida State, he transitioned to the point guard position, which allowed him to flourish as a player.

During his time with the Seminoles, Douglas emerged as a formidable defensive player, setting both school and conference records for steals. His leadership qualities shone through in his final season, where he not only broke personal records across various statistical categories but also played a pivotal role in leading the Seminoles to their first NCAA tournament appearance in eleven years.

In the 2009 NBA Draft, Douglas was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the twenty-ninth overall pick but was quickly traded to the New York Knicks. Over the years, he has played for several teams, including the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, and Golden State Warriors, before joining the Miami Heat in two thousand fourteen. After a season in China with the Jiangsu Dragons, he made his return to the NBA in two thousand fifteen, signing with the New Orleans Pelicans.
