Tong Wen

Tong Wen, born on February first, nineteen eighty-three, in Tianjin, China, is a distinguished judoka who began her journey in the sport at the age of thirteen. Her dedication and talent quickly propelled her to the forefront of international judo.

In the 2008 Summer Olympics, Tong achieved the pinnacle of her career by winning the gold medal, solidifying her status as one of the elite athletes in her field. Her impressive track record includes multiple gold medals at the World Judo Championships, where she triumphed in two thousand three, two thousand five, two thousand seven, two thousand nine, and two thousand eleven, alongside a bronze medal in two thousand one.

However, her career faced a significant challenge when, on May tenth, two thousand ten, she was banned for two years by the International Judo Federation due to a doping violation involving Clenbuterol. This led to the forfeiture of her gold medal from the two thousand nine World Championships. Undeterred, Tong contested the ban and took her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ultimately ruled in her favor, stating that the doping violation could not be substantiated.

Following her reinstatement, Tong made a triumphant return to international competition in May two thousand eleven, where she showcased her resilience and skill by winning gold at the Moscow Grand Slam, marking a remarkable comeback in her illustrious career.
