Tony Parker

William Anthony Parker Jr., born on May 17, 1982, is a distinguished French-American former professional basketball player and the majority owner of LDLC ASVEL in the LNB Élite and EuroLeague. Growing up in a basketball family, Parker began his career with Paris Basket Racing in the French league before making a significant leap to the NBA, where he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the twenty-eighth overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft. He quickly established himself as the team's starting point guard.

During his illustrious career with the Spurs, Parker secured four NBA championships in the years two thousand three, two thousand five, two thousand seven, and two thousand fourteen. He also showcased his talent during the 2011 NBA lockout by playing for LDLC ASVEL in France. After a brief stint with the Charlotte Hornets, he retired as the ninth leading scorer and fifth in career assists in NBA playoff history.

Parker's accolades include six NBA All-Star selections, three All-NBA Second Team honors, and an All-NBA Third Team selection. He was named the MVP of the 2007 NBA Finals and earned a spot on the All-Rookie First Team. The Spurs honored his contributions by retiring his number nine jersey. Widely regarded as one of the greatest European players, Parker played a pivotal role in the Spurs' success throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s. His legacy was further cemented when he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on August 13, 2023.

On the international stage, Parker represented the France national team, where he was named the MVP of EuroBasket 2013 after leading his team to victory over Lithuania in the finals. He finished the tournament as the top scorer, averaging nineteen points per game. In two thousand fifteen, he became the all-time leading scorer in EuroBasket history, a record that was later surpassed by Pau Gasol.
