Tore André Flo, born on June 15, 1973, is a distinguished Norwegian football coach and former striker, known for his remarkable contributions to the sport both on and off the field. He began his professional career with Sogndal, later playing for Tromsø and Brann in the Tippeligaen, before making a significant move abroad to join Chelsea.
During his time at Chelsea, Flo made a notable impact, which led to his transfer to Rangers for a staggering twelve million pounds, making him the most expensive Norwegian player at that time. His career also included stints at Sunderland, Siena, Vålerenga, and Leeds United, showcasing his versatility and skill across various leagues.
Flo's international career is equally impressive, having earned seventy-six caps and scored twenty-three goals for the Norwegian national team. He represented Norway in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000, famously scoring Norway's first goal in their historic victory over Brazil, which allowed them to advance to the second round of the World Cup.
After announcing his retirement in March 2008, Flo made two comebacks, first with Milton Keynes Dons in November 2008 and then with Sogndal in March 2011. He ultimately retired for the third time in August 2012 and subsequently returned to Chelsea, this time as a member of their coaching staff, continuing to influence the game he loves.
