Tōru Furuya

Tōru Furuya, born on July thirty-first, nineteen fifty-three, is a distinguished Japanese actor and narrator, renowned for his extensive work in the anime industry. His journey began in childhood as a member of Gekidan Himawari, a children's acting troupe, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Since nineteen eighty-two, he has been associated with Aoni Production, a prominent talent management firm.

Furuya's voice has brought to life some of the most iconic characters in anime history. He is best known for his roles as Amuro Ray in Gundam, Hyūma Hoshi in Star of the Giants, Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, Yamcha in Dragon Ball, Kyōsuke Kasuga in Kimagure Orange Road, and Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon. These characters hold a special place in his heart, and he considers them among his most significant contributions to the industry.

In addition to his anime roles, Furuya voiced Mario in various anime adaptations and commercials, starting with the film Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach! in nineteen eighty-six. He also adopted the pseudonym Noboru Sōgetsu when voicing Ribbons Almark in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Zen Kirishima in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi, marking his first foray into a non-Universal Century Gundam series.

Furuya's versatility extends beyond anime; he is recognized as the official dubbing voice for the celebrated Hong Kong action film actor Yuen Biao. His contributions to the world of voice acting and narration have solidified his status as a beloved figure in Japanese entertainment.
