Tracy Lamar McGrady Jr., born on May 24, 1979, is a celebrated American former professional basketball player, widely recognized for his remarkable career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known affectionately as T-Mac, he earned a reputation as one of the greatest scorers and shooting guards in the history of the league. His accolades include being a seven-time NBA All-Star, a seven-time All-NBA selection, and a two-time NBA scoring champion, alongside winning the NBA Most Improved Player Award in two thousand one.

McGrady's journey to the NBA began straight out of high school when he was selected as the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 NBA draft. Initially starting as a low-minute player, he gradually enhanced his role, forming a dynamic duo with his cousin Vince Carter. In two thousand, he transitioned to the Orlando Magic, where he emerged as one of the league's most prolific scorers and a contender for the NBA Most Valuable Player Award.

In two thousand four, McGrady was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he teamed up with center Yao Ming, helping the franchise become a consistent playoff contender. Unfortunately, his final seasons in the NBA were marred by injuries, leading to his retirement in two thousand thirteen after brief stints with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association and the San Antonio Spurs.

Since hanging up his sneakers, McGrady has transitioned into a role as a basketball analyst for ESPN. Additionally, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing professional baseball, pitching for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball from April to July two thousand fourteen.
