Trần Đại Quang

Trần Đại Quang, born on October twelfth, nineteen fifty-six, was a prominent Vietnamese politician and former police general. He held the esteemed position of the ninth president of Vietnam from 2016 until his untimely death in 2018. Quang's political journey was marked by his significant contributions to the nation's security and governance.

Before ascending to the presidency, Quang served as the Minister of Public Security for five years, from 2011 to 2016. His tenure in this role was characterized by a strong focus on maintaining public order and enhancing national security. His leadership in the Ministry laid the groundwork for his later nomination to the presidency.

On April second, 2016, Trần Đại Quang was elected president by the National Assembly of Vietnam, following the nomination from his predecessor, Trương Tấn Sang. As one of the country's top leaders, he held a significant position within the Politburo, ranking second only to Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the General Secretary of the Communist Party.
