Travis Kalanick, born on August 6, 1976, is an influential American entrepreneur and computer scientist, renowned for co-founding Uber and serving as its chief executive officer from 2010 to 2017. His journey in the tech industry began with Scour, a pioneering peer-to-peer file sharing application, and continued with the establishment of Red Swoosh, a peer-to-peer content delivery network that was successfully sold to Akamai Technologies in 2007.

During his tenure at Uber, Kalanick played a pivotal role in transforming the transportation landscape, but his leadership was marred by controversies, leading to his resignation in 2017 amid allegations of neglecting reports of sexual harassment within the company.
