Trevor Cadieu

Trevor John Cadieu is a distinguished retired senior officer of the Canadian military, having achieved the rank of lieutenant general. His career was marked by significant leadership roles, and he was poised to take command of the army. However, his trajectory took a dramatic turn when he faced an allegation of sexual assault stemming from nearly three decades prior.

Throughout the ordeal, Cadieu consistently maintained his innocence and advocated for a comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth. After enduring months of trial delays, he ultimately decided to leave the military. In October 2023, an Ontario judge stayed the charge against him, citing unreasonable delays in the disclosure process by military police that infringed upon his Charter rights.

Since departing from the Canadian Armed Forces, Cadieu has dedicated a significant portion of his time to supporting Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict following the Russian invasion in 2022. His expertise has been invaluable as he provides advisory and training assistance to military leaders in the region.
