He first made waves in the music industry with his debut album, Based on a True Story, released in nineteen ninety-seven under the local label Slip-n-Slide Records. Following his debut, Trick Daddy released a sequel, www.thug.com, in nineteen ninety-eight, which further solidified his presence in the rap community. His partnership with Atlantic Records began with the release of Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47 in two thousand, followed by Thugs Are Us in two thousand one and Thug Holiday in two thousand two.
