Triinu Kivilaan

Triinu Kivilaan, born on January thirteenth, nineteen eighty-nine, is an Estonian vocalist and former model, celebrated for her role in the popular girl group Vanilla Ninja. She joined the group in two thousand four, stepping in to replace Maarja Kivi on bass after having met the other members a year prior. Her selection was influenced by the striking resemblance she bore to Kivi, making her a fitting addition to the ensemble.

At the time of her joining, Vanilla Ninja was poised to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest two thousand five. However, Kivilaan's age posed a challenge, as she was only fifteen years old, and the contest had recently implemented an age requirement of sixteen. Initially, she claimed to be seventeen, but the Swiss selectors uncovered her true age. Fortunately, her sixteenth birthday was just four months before the contest, allowing her to participate.

Triinu's tenure with Vanilla Ninja was relatively brief, as she departed in December two thousand five, with the remaining members—Lenna Kuurmaa, Katrin Siska, and Piret Järvis—continuing as a trio. The group cited mutual consent and creative differences as the reasons for her exit. During her time with the band, Kivilaan primarily contributed backing vocals and basic instrumentation, often being separated from the other members during key performances, including the Eurovision semi-final and final.

Despite her limited role in the group's songs, she made a notable appearance in the music video for 'When The Indians Cry.' As of two thousand twenty-one, Kivilaan was residing in Switzerland, reflecting on her unique journey in the music and modeling industries.
