Tryphiodorus, an eminent epic poet hailing from Panopolis, now known as Akhmim in Egypt, has left an indelible mark on the literary world with his remarkable works. His most notable contribution, The Sack of Troy, is an epic poem comprising six hundred ninety-one verses that captures the essence of heroism and tragedy in the context of the Trojan War.

In addition to The Sack of Troy, Tryphiodorus is credited with other literary titles, including Marathoniaca and The Story of Hippodamea. These works, although less well-known, further showcase his talent and creativity as a poet.
