Ty Segall, born on June eighth, nineteen eighty-seven, is an influential American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and record producer. He has carved a niche for himself in the music industry, primarily recognized for his prolific solo career, which boasts the release of seventeen studio albums, alongside a variety of EPs, singles, and collaborative projects.
In addition to his solo endeavors, Segall is an active member of several bands, including Fuzz, Broken Bat, the CIA, GØGGS, Wasted Shirt, and Freckle. His musical journey also includes past affiliations with groups such as the Traditional Fools, Epsilons, Party Fowl, Sic Alps, and the Perverts, showcasing his versatility and commitment to diverse musical expressions.
During live performances, Segall is currently supported by the Freedom Band, featuring regular collaborators Mikal Cronin on bass and backing vocals, Charles Moothart on drums, and Emmett Kelly on guitar and backing vocals. Previously, Segall has worked with the Ty Segall Band, which included Cronin, Moothart, and Emily Rose Epstein, as well as the Muggers, a high-concept band formed in two thousand sixteen. The Muggers featured Cronin, Kelly, Kyle Thomas, Wand's Cory Hanson, and Evan Burrows. Additionally, he has collaborated with the Sleeper Band, consisting of Sean Paul, Andrew Luttrell, and Moothart, further highlighting his extensive network and collaborative spirit in the music scene.
