Tyler Myers, born on February first, nineteen ninety, in Houston, Texas, is a prominent Canadian-American professional ice hockey player. Currently, he serves as a defenceman for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Myers was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the two thousand eight NHL entry draft, being the twelfth overall pick.
At the conclusion of the two thousand nine–ten season, Myers achieved a significant milestone by winning the Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best rookie. His impressive stature of six feet eight inches makes him one of the tallest active players in the league, earning him the nicknames 'The Big Easy' and 'Big Tex' during the early days of his career, a nod to his Texas roots.
After relocating to Vancouver, Myers garnered the playful nickname 'Chaos Giraffe' from fans, although he has since moved to Dallas and distanced himself from this moniker. Throughout his career, he has represented Canada on the international stage, securing gold medals at the two thousand eight IIHF World U18 Championships, the two thousand nine World Junior Championships, and the two thousand twenty-three IIHF World Championships.
