Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tyrese Maxey

Tyrese Maxey, born on November 4, 2000, in Dallas, Texas, is an accomplished American professional basketball player currently showcasing his talents with the Philadelphia 49ers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). His journey began at South Garland High School, where he played as a shooting guard and led his team to its inaugural Texas state high school basketball tournament appearance in 2018.

Maxey's exceptional skills on the court earned him recognition as a five-star recruit by his sophomore year. He was a standout player, ultimately becoming a McDonald's All-American and receiving the prestigious title of Texas Mr. Basketball during his senior year. He then took his talents to the collegiate level, joining the Kentucky Wildcats, where he made an impressive debut by setting a school record with twenty-six points.

After a freshman season at Kentucky that was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Maxey declared for the 2020 NBA draft. The Philadelphia 49ers selected him as the twenty-first overall pick in the first round. Although his rookie season saw limited playing time, a significant opportunity arose when Ben Simmons opted not to play for the team, allowing Maxey to step into the role of starting point guard.

In his fourth season, Maxey's hard work and dedication paid off as he was honored with the Most Improved Player Award and earned his first All-Star selection in 2024. Following the 49ers' playoff elimination, he also received the NBA Sportsmanship Award, further solidifying his reputation as a player of integrity and skill.
